A Message from Head Coach

Welcome to the 2022 Mustang Football Season!

To give you a quick snapshot of my football experience –prior to coaching he Mustangs, I played college football for The University of Alabama, was drafted to the New Orleans saints of the NFL in 2001 and ended my playing years in the Canadian Football League. I have been coaching at Homestead High School for 17 years and my dedication grows stronger each season.

In 2019 we were the Champions of the El Camino league and have been in the De Anza A league ever since. Last year, we made it all the way to the CCS Division IV championship game. During my 12 seasons as head coach, we’ve made the playoffs 6 times and have 5 league titles. I have also had the honor of receiving the Coach of the Month award from the San Francisco 49erstwo times.

I invite your child to become a part of the Mustang Football family and to excel as a student athlete. The season is here and now is the time for an amazing fall football season. Our coaching staff is working to help each athlete be the best they can be both on and off the playing field.

I am asking all parents to jump in as Football Boosters and share the responsibility of making this the best football experience possible for the players. If we all pitch in, then we’ll function better as a team and become a solid football family. Please reach out to our Football Booster President John Zarour jzarour@gmail.com.
